The Japan-built Takamine Pro Series P3MC acoustic-electric guitar combines good looks with outstanding tone and easy playability. The mahogany neck has an asymmetrical “C” profile that is slightly thinner on the bass side of the neck so that it fits the natural shape of your hand. The bound rosewood fretboard is topped with perfectly dressed frets and unique "Dot-In-Dot" inlays. And thanks to the P3MC's Venetian cutaway, you won't run out of real estate before you run out of licks. Plug it in and you'll be rewarded with superior amplified acoustic tone, free of spiky piezo quack and harshness.

The Takamine P3MC is an excellent example of what happens when you blend quality tonewoods and Takamine's painstaking attention to detail. With its scalloped X-braced solid cedar top and solid sapele back, the P3MC looks "classy, not flashy". And its OM size is equally at home when flatpicked or fingerpicked. If you can only bring one acoustic guitar to your next gig or session, an OM is a wise choice.

Intonation on the P3MC is excellent throughout all registers. Notice the unique split saddle-bridge. This design properly compensates each string's length for accurate intonation. Up top is a sextet of smooth, high-ratio tuners, assuring that you'll stay in tune for the whole set.

If you plug in, you're going to appreciate the CT4B II preamp. The CT4B II Preamp is designed for use only in Takamine's made in Japan Pro Series guitars. The 3 band EQ provides control over the bass (LOW), midrange (MID) and treble (HIGH) frequency response. With the sliders set at the midpoint (0) the electric signal from the guitar is evenly balanced across the frequency range. The desired tone is then dialed in by using the sliders to add or subtract frequency response as desired. Each frequency control slider will raise or lower the band response by +/-5db. The convenient built-in chromatic tuner is extremely accurate and very easy to use. The tuner is activated by pressing the TUNER POWER button. To tune your instrument, simply pluck any open string. The tuner will then display the name of the note that has the closest frequency of the string played. To facilitate silent on-stage tuning, the TUNER POWER button also acts as a mute switch when the guitar is played amplified. If you wish to be able to tune with your signal amplified, simply press the TUNER POWER a second time. Press a third time to shut off the tuner function. The tuner will shut off automatically when there is no signal for a couple of minutes.

This is a guitar that can be expected to play a lot of gigs. As such, a Takamine Deluxe hard case is included with your purchase.

This specific guitar is free of any scratches, dings or blemishes. It has no player's wear and needed no refurbishing other than the filing of a few slightly sharp fret ends. This was taken care of our supplier and then it came directly to us where it has just been given a complete "Post Factory" setup.

About Our Setup:
Although this guitar played “well enough to sell” when it arrived here at LightSpeed Music, I have just given it a full "post factory" setup. The truss rod was checked and adjusted. Then, the frets were leveled, crowned and polished. These first two steps allowed me to lower the saddle and nut a bit and improve the action, while still keeping the guitar free of fret buzz. The fretboard and bridge were conditioned and the nut slots were lubed and polished. The electronics were tested and given a protective application of contact cleaner and lube. Everything was snugged up and then it was polished. Lastly, it was given a fresh set of S.I.T. 80/20 Golden Bronze strings gauged .012" to .052".
