The Epiphone “1956” Les Paul Standard PRO features a solid mahogany body with a maple veneer top that delivers all the crunch and sustain that can only come from a “real” Les Paul. The “1956 PRO" has single ply cream binding on the top for a beautiful vintage look, and like all Epiphone Les Pauls it features a 14 degree angled headstock that gives you more downward string pressure at the nut. The result is longer sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by “string-tree” gadgets. The mahogany neck has a 24-3/4” scale length with a 12” radius and features a slightly beefier 1950s Rounded “C” profile with a hand set, glued-in neck joint for lifelong stability. The rosewood fretboard comes with pearloid trapezoid inlays, 22 medium-jumbo frets, a 1-11/16” nut...Yeah it feels great in the player's hand. Did I mention that his “1956” PRO looks amazing in its Chicago Blue finish?

The Epiphone “1956” Les Paul Standard PRO features a duet of P-90 PRO pickups for that one-of-a-kind vintage Les Paul sound. The Epiphone P-90 PRO pickups feature Alnico V magnets, the same magnets used in sought-after vintage Les Paul with P-90s from the early 1950s. Alnico V magnets provide a rich, warm tone with a sparkling high end and a solid low end which makes the “1956” Les Paul Standard PRO one of the most versatile guitars around. Epiphone uses only the highest quality parts for its "PRO" pickups, including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 cold rolled steel pole shoes and pole screws, Alnico magnets, and the finest magnet wire available.

Of course, the Epiphone “1956” Les Paul Standard PRO has Epiphone’s legendary rock-solid hardware including a LockTone Tune-o-Matic fully adjustable bridge and a Stopbar tailpiece. Epiphone’s updated design locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed for that one-of-a-kind Les Paul sustain. A six-pack of Epiphone's "Deluxe" 18:1 ratio machine heads make tuning easy and reliable.

Electronics are quite good. This LP uses 1” diameter potentiometers for better “throw,” longer life, and reliable service. And the all-metal toggle switch uses rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance. Epiphone’s proprietary "no spin" output jack features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability.

This guitar is free of any player's wear, scratches, dings, or cosmetic blemishes. When it was inspected at our supplier their techs found nothing to refurbish, so it came directly to us where it has just received a complete "Post Factory" setup.

Included with your guitar is a new Gator hard case. The GWE-LPS is constructed using ultra-durable plywood that is ready to stand up to years of use...and abuse. The black Tolex exterior covering creates a moisture-resistant, rugged home for your prized guitar and the ergonomic handle offers a comfortable grip, perfectly balancing the weight of your instrument. Inside, a thick plush lining keeps your guitar cushioned against impact and includes a spacious interior accessory compartment to organize your favorite guitar accessories while providing additional neck support. A quartet of chrome plated lockable latches secure the case and keep prying eyes at bay.

About Our Setup:
This guitar played "well enough to sell" when it arrived here at LightSpeed Music. Still, I have just given it a complete "post factory" setup. First, the truss rod was checked and adjusted. Then the frets were leveled crowned and polished. These first two steps allowed me to lower the bridge and nut, and yet, still keep it completely buzz free. The fretboard was conditioned and the nut slots were lubed and polished. The electronics were tested and then given a protective application of contact cleaner and lube. Everything was snugged up and the guitar was polished. It received a fresh set of S.I.T. Power Wound strings gauged .010" to .046" and then the intonation was set. Now, this guitar plays very well and will please even the most demanding professional.
