Epiphone Custom Shop Ltd Ed Les Paul Traditional Pro w/ Coil Taps & Fresh Setup
Availability: In Stock
Condition: Seller Refurbished
Epiphone's history and association with Les Paul dates way back to the days when Les, working at the Epiphone factory on 14th St. in New York, created the world's first electric guitar. Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone by reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. The Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro electric guitar combines the best of Les Paul's original design with new features that set this Epiphone guitar apart.
What sets the Les Paul Traditional PRO apart from all other LPs wannabes is their 4-wire, nickel/silver base humbuckers with newly tooled, USA-style bobbins. In the neck position is an Alnico Classic Pro humbucker with Alnico-II magnets with open zebra coils for warm, thick vintage tone. The Alnico Classic Pro is paired with an Epiphone ProBucker-3 humbucker at the bridge. This inspired version of Gibson's classic BurstBucker-3 features unevenly wound coils and Alnico-II magnets that replicate that "Patent Applied For" airy tone.
Combined with the 3-way toggle, you get 6 unique sounds from one great Les Paul guitar! The back and the neck have a satin finish, which is very comfortable and doesn't get sticky on a hot stage.
The Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro guitar has a solid mahogany back with a carved top and a solid mahogany neck that's hand-fitted and glued into the body for excellent neck-to-body contact and acting almost like one continuous piece of wood. The guitar's neck features a traditional D profile. It is very comfortable and yeah, it's very fast.
Other features on the Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro include sealed Grover tuners, a traditional cream-colored pickguard, and a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge/stopbar. (A significant improvement over the original "Loose-O-Matic" bridge)
This guitar is 100% free of any wear and needed no refurbishing. It is discounted because the QC crew at Epi marked it as a "2nd". After a thorough inspection, I can honestly say I do not know what they were referring to! Still, we have just completed a complete "Post Factory" setup and it now plays considerably better than the typical new example.
About Our Setup:
This guitar played "well enough to sell" when it arrived here at LightSpeed Music. Still, I have just given it a complete "post factory" setup. First, the truss rod was checked and adjusted. Then the frets were leveled crowned and polished. These first two steps allowed me to lower the bridge and nut, and yet, still keep it completely buzz free. The fretboard was conditioned and the nut slots were lubed and polished. The electronics were tested and then given a protective application of contact cleaner and lube. Everything was snugged up and the guitar was polished. It received a fresh set of S.I.T. Power Wound strings gauged .010" to .046" and then the intonation was set. Now, this guitar plays very well and will please even the most demanding professional.
