Fender Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Deluxe w/ New Hard Case & Fresh Setup - Olympic White
Availability: In Stock
Condition: Manufacturer Refurbished
The Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Deluxe is powered by a pair of humbucking pickups...That's right, humbucking PUPs, not single coils.
And these aren't just any 'buckers, these are Fender-designed Wide Range humbuckers. These PUPs give you all the crunchy overdriven tones that are absent in a standard Tele. And thanks to a basswood body and maple neck, you still have the classic Tele feel and playability that is still going strong after nearly 70 years.
In spite of its modified DNA, the Telecaster Deluxe is still a Tele at heart. The basswood body, maple neck and fretboard are pure are hallmarks of Leo's original design, and give this axe a presence that is absent in mahogany and rosewood guitars. A six-pack of vintage inline tuners hold pitch securely and intonation is spot on thanks to the 6 individual saddles. The only deviation from the original Tele body is the addition of a comfortable "belly carve" on the back.
The control set on the Telecaster Deluxe come more from the Gibson playbook than typical Fender. Each pickup has dedicated volume and tone pots and can be selected via a 3-way switch. Soloed, the neck pickup has a width and depth that is unmistakably musical and the bridge pickup sounded amazing through my 1970's Princeton Reverb. Adding a Tube Screamer to the signal chain put me into heaven. With both pickups on and all of the guitar's pots "dimed", I found the perfect tone for rhythm playing...full of body and with clarity without becoming spikey or shrill.
Included with your guitar is a new Gator hard case.
The Gator GWE-Elec is a hard-shell wood case specifically designed to safely transport the Telecaster. The GWE-Elec is constructed using ultra-durable plywood that is ready to stand up to years of use...and abuse. The black Tolex exterior covering creates a moisture-resistant, rugged home for your prized guitar and the ergonomic handle offers a comfortable grip, perfectly balancing the weight of your instrument. Inside, a thick plush lining keeps your guitar cushioned against impact and includes a spacious interior accessory compartment to organize your favorite guitar accessories, while providing additional neck support. A trio of chrome plated lockable latches secure the case and keep prying eyes at bay.
This guitar needed no refurbishing other than the smoothing of some slightly sharp fret ends. It is free of any player's wear and has no dings or cosmetic blemishes. The fret ends were taken care of at our supplier and then it came directly to us where it was just given a complete "post factory" setup.
About Our Setup:
This guitar played "well enough to sell" when it arrived here at LightSpeed Music. Still, I have just given it a complete "post factory" setup. First, the truss rod was checked and adjusted. Then the frets were leveled crowned and polished. These first two steps allowed me to lower the bridge and nut, and yet, still keep it completely buzz free. The fretboard was conditioned and the nut slots were lubed and polished. The electronics were tested and then given a protective application of contact cleaner and lube. Everything was snugged up and the guitar was polished. It received a fresh set of S.I.T. Power Wound strings gauged .010" to .046" and then the intonation was set. Now, this guitar plays very well and will please even the most demanding professional.
